Midnight's Terror

[KEN 1104] Kenzer & Co.   $15.99 $14.39

BEWARE THE CITY OF DREAMS… Heated theological debate is the norm in Thygasha, a mecca for major religions. Recently, however, extremists disrupted the peace with mortal conflict in the streets. Worse, mysterious thieves stole the Orb of Midnight – an evil artifact – from its guardians. Concurrently, rumors that a second source of Thygasha’s renowned “silver sand” had been discovered caused would-be treasure seekers to foray into the exceedingly dangerous Khydoban Desert. Only a few lucky souls returned, whispering tales of vast caverns filled with the valuable drug. With handfuls of the precious material, several of these survivors financed return expeditions into the harsh wasteland, but none have returned. In addition, Prince Shyja’s scouts have disappeared and an ancient burial crypt is now seen above the sands. This world supplement and free-flowing adventure provides hooks for characters of any motivation, and enables their personalities to come alive as they solve mysteries, battle dangerous new foes, and much more. [KEN 1100] Kenzer & Co.   $12.99 $11.69

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SIMPLE JOB! In the small town of Haanex on Reanaaria Bay, the wizard Veoden assembles the PCs to do a simple job: find a map, and follow its directions to the remnants of a meteor said to be made of the rare substance mithral. Of course, all is not as simple as it appears… A plot to create a powerful magical item called the Coin of Power soon takes the heroes on a quest to learn the means to destroy this evil item and its insidious master- before she destroys them. Complicating matters is the fact that the one man who can help them was lost during an expedition to the Reelio Jungle months ago is yet to return. Will the PCs be able to survive the rigors of the jungle and solve the riddle of the tribesmen who live there? The lives of everyone in the region might depend upon it! This accessory provides characters with an elaborate storyline and a chance for many varied types of adventure. Pathfinder #11—Curse of the Crimson Throne Chapter 5: "Skeletons of Scarwall" (OGL)

[PZO 9011] Paizo Publishing   $19.99 $17.89

Chapter 11: "Skeletons of Scarwall" by Greg A. Vaughan The heroes have learned the identity of the evil that plagues Korvosa—the vile remnants of an evil dragon who once ruled much of Belkzen as a sadistic warlord. In order to defeat him again and save both Korvosa and the queen, the PCs must journey deep into the orc-held lands of Belkzen and brave the haunted reaches of Castle Scarwall, once the dragon's seat of power. Somewhere deep inside waits the holy weapon Serithtial, the sword responsible for his defeat hundreds of years ago. Only on its edge can the dragon be driven from the world. This volume of Pathfinder also features a gazetteer of the brutal lands known as the Hold of Belkzen, a presentation on Zon-Kuthon (god of darkness and pain), and several new monsters native to Belkzen and the haunted depths of Castle Scarwall. Pathfinder is Paizo Publishing's 96-page, perfect-bound, full-color softcover Adventure Path book printed on high-quality paper that releases in a monthly volume. Each volume is brought to you by the same staff which brought you Dragon and Dungeon magazines for over five years. It contains an in-depth Adventure Path scenario, stats for about a half-dozen new monsters, and several support articles meant to give Game Masters additional material to expand their campaign. Because Pathfinder uses the Open Game License, it is 100% compatible with the world's most popular fantasy roleplaying game.

GameMastery: Combat Pad

GameMastery: Combat Pad

[PZO OMS1000] Paizo Publishing   $16.95 $15.49

The Combat Pad initiative tracker is the ultimate tool for managing combat in your favorite roleplaying game. It is a wet- and dry-erasable board with a steel core, so the included magnets stick right to it! It is portable—about the size of a sheet of paper—so you can take it anywhere you're gaming. Use it to quickly and easily track turns. Write the PC's, enemies', and NPC's names on the player magnets using a wet- or dry-erase marker, then place them in initiative order. Use the blue magnets for PCs, black magnets for enemies, and green magnets for NPCs. Hash marks label positions 0–25, making it easy to put the magnets in the correct initiative order. When the order changes, simply slide the magnets to their new places. The turn indicator magnet points to whose turn it is; never accidentally skip someone again! As the round progresses, slide the turn indicator to point to the next player; its now that player's turn. At the end of the round, the turn indicator will point to the next round magnet. The next round magnet serves as a reminder to move the round indicator magnet. The round indicator points to the current round number, so you'll always know exactly which round it is! Write which round spells and effects expire in the notes section of the Combat Pad (e.g. "haste ends round 10"). Additionally, the notes section is a great place to record damage or anything else necessary to make combat run smoothly. For tactical groups, delaying and readying guides make it simple to synchronize attacks—enemies beware! Slide the player magnet to the proper guide and avoid the confusion common with other initiative tracking methods. * Each Combat Pad includes: 1 magnetic wet- and dry-erase board * 2 combat round indicators * 8 player character magnets * 4 non-player character magnets * 8 enemy magnets * 2 next round indicators * 2 active turn indicators

REVIEW BY: Jake

Works really well. Easy to keep track of changing turn orders, and new combatants in the middle of the encounter. We lost all the little arrows, but you don't really need them. Highly recommended.

REVIEW BY: dimes

Our group uses one of these and it is extremely handy to have around. We've lost all the red marker magnets, but it works just as well without them. If you really need to, just draw an arrow on one of the nametags and use that. Great for keeping track of things, especially changing turn orders in the middle of the encounter. Highly recommended.

REVIEW BY: surfbored

This is actually a pretty handy little tool for any Dungeonmaster. The strength of each magnet is low enough that they slide around the board easily without falling off at every bump or tap. Writing on the board and magnets is quite easy as well. The metal that is wedged between the cardboard sheets is sturdy and runs nearly edge-to-edge for maximum usability even with magnets that don't come in the original package. This tool was originally designed for D&D 3.5, but it works just fine with 4e as well. The only downside is some wasted space (at the edges and top) that could be better used for more notes or longer lists and, you will end up losing the smaller magnets sooner or later so you could end up buying the additional magnets later.
